Our nursery environment and facilities enable your child to explore, develop and learn. Our Baby, Toddler and Preschool spaces are specially designed and equipped especially with them in mind. You’ll see many familiar homely items such as bookcases, tables, chairs, and sofas just much smaller than you are used to!

We consider the spaces around them to be your child’s third teacher, joining you as parents and us as educators in guiding them through their learning. And you’ll notice how we use our garden area as an outdoor classroom too, full of features to support their play and learning. Our Baby, Toddler and Preschool rooms are perfect for the ages of children that spend their time in them.

We keep many aspects of our nursery environments consistent as we know your child will benefit greatly from this. With core resources, enriching toys, games and creative materials, that are always at hand for your child to play with. However, it is not unusual for parts of our nurseries to become unique adventure places where your child’s imagination can run free!

Babies Environment

Our first floor baby facilities are well equipped to encourage learning through play. Each baby is encouraged to develop through creative and sensory activities. A cosy area is provided where the babies are read stories and can play with soft and sensory toys. There is also a messy play area where babies can explore sand and water, and get creative with paints and crayons. The babies have a dedicated sleep room where they are supplied with their own bedding, and there is a fully equipped changing station.

Our nursery facilities also include a sensory room with equipment and materials to stimulate the babies’ senses. Here, babies can also explore different textures, in the form of textured cushions and other materials. There is also a black and white area for young babies. Babies under 6-months-old can only detect large contrasts between light and dark, or black and white. The best stimulation for young babies is using black and white or high-contrast stripes and shapes.

Older babies who are learning to become more mobile are encouraged through our baby gym, where they are able to explore stairs, a tunnel and a ramp, in a safe environment.

Toddlers Environment

The ground floor toddler and pre-school rooms are divided into a story corner, circle time area, arts and crafts area, maths and writing areas, construction area, and home corner. Toddlers and pre-school children spend part of their day together, however, during focused activities, the children are separated into their respective rooms.

The modern toilet facilities cater for both toilet-trained and non-toilet-trained children. The bright, fun cubicles help to encourage those children that are not yet toilet-trained.

The focus for toddlers, aged up to three years old, is on learning through play. Toddlers make full use of the creative areas, a reading corner, circle time area and a home corner.

Preschool Environment

Preschool children follow the ‘foundation stage’ preparing them for their eventual move to school. This is a more structured routine, with children working in groups and becoming accustomed to paying attention for longer periods of time while undertaking monthly topics, based on the seven areas of learning: physical development; personal, social and emotional development; communication and language; literacy; mathematics; understanding the world; and expressive arts and design. Under the EYFS guidelines, stronger emphasis will be placed on the three key areas which are most essential for children’s healthy development: communication and language; physical development; and personal, social and emotional development.

Outdoor Spaces

Monkey Puzzle Ealing understands the need for children to have a space to run and play in the fresh air. Our nursery has a secure, outdoor play area full of equipment to stimulate creativity and imagination, whilst providing a space for them to expend their energy. The impact-absorbing play surface ensures that bumps and scrapes are kept to a minimum, and the artificial grass will never get muddy and unusable. There is also a messy play area that allows the children to explore sand and water, or do some digging.

Parents may use our car park to drop off or pick up their child from nursery. There is also ample, parking around the nursery.
